Tasty tour of the United States

Author Lisa Joy Taylor takes you on a tasty tour of the United States through her cookbook America's Most Delicious Dessert Recipes State by State. While some may disagree with her recipe choices, as with all things it is a matter of opinion, I found her cookbook a delight to read. Taylor offers a lovely introduction for each state's recipes and then offers the recipe itself.

Arizona: Sopapilla Cheesecake
Hawaii: Kulolo
Massachusetts: Cranberry Cream Pie
Nebraska: Nebraska Black Walnut Ice Cream

Chestnut Pie is not part of my Michigan Realm

Great concept that is poorly executed because of mechanical and grammatical errors. Not sure that the state recipe is an accurate reflection of the state's dessert. Please read the following examples.
I have lived in seven different cities in Michigan and traveled the state extensively and have never had Chestnut Pie. So as a retired Language Arts teacher, I researched where this pie originated and it is Travese City. When I think of Traverse City I think of cherries, not chestnuts.
I have also lived in Illinois for 10 years and never saw Black Walnut Cream Cake on a menu. I live 30 miles from Indiana and have traveled that state from north to south and east to west and have never had Blueberry Lemon Bars. Actually have not seen too many blueberry farms in Indiana, since most of them are in SW Michigan.
If you are looking for interesting recipes and grammatical errors do not bother you, then this book is for you. If you have not traveled from coast to coast and want an accurate dessert for each state, then this book is not for you.
