excellent read for the serious and the curious

W.C. Jameson does a wonderful job of relating the tales of times gone by and the treasures left behind. He never states as fact that which he does not know as fact. A great read! I would recommend it to arm-chair treasure hunters and "professional" ones, alike.
My one minor complaint is the lack of more detailed, historic maps, but then again, half the fun is finding those on your own.

Penn just keeps getting better!!

Penn's "Exodus, An ARKANE Thriller (Book 3)" is, without a doubt, the best of the bunch so far for Morgan Sierra and the team at the Arcane Religious Knowledge And Numinous Experience Institute (ARKANE). Character development, attention to detail, and a great plot make this book one of those rare finds that you just HAVE to read straight through in one sitting. From its chilling first pages all the way through to its explosive conclusion, Ms. Penn has made Exodus her best piece of adventure fiction to date and I simply can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. Buy this book and, if you haven't read Pentecost (Book 1) or Prophecy (Book 2), buy them, too, or you'll never know what you're missing!

Another great addition to the ARKANE series. Joanna definately has a way of deftly describing the sights and sounds of Morgan Sierra's world without sounding weighty or forced. Easy to read, fast paced, and deeply interesting as Penn once again delves deeper under the surface of religion, history, and the complexities of human relationships, both good and bad.

I love that the protagonist isnt just another eurocentric hero, and that with each book i find out more about her Israeli background. Its a great read that you can lose yourself in as well as learn from.

Definately has parallels with 'the Da Vinci code' (Dan Brown), 'Tomb Raider', and the 'Jack West/ Seven Ancient Wonders' series (by Matthew Riley), but with just the right amount of gravity and facts to make it believable.

A great book and a highly entertaining series!

The Two Towers

It's the Lord of the Rings part two. When you read the book you realize how much was left out of the movie. Tolkien was a great story teller, with a mind that knew no bounds. The only draw back to the tale is that he did not alternate the story lines. The Frodo and Sam part is one section of the book and the Gandalf and the others is another part. I would have liked it a bit better if the stories were intertwined and he alternated the separate adventures. This is a great timeless tale that is worth rereading.

I recently reviewed Recorded Books Incorporated's unabridged rendition of Fellowship of the Ring. I return now to review the second installment of the trilogy, The Two Towers. The Two Towers pics up right where Fellowship left off. Frodo and Sam have left to find a way into Mordor, while Merri and Pippin have gone in search of them. Aragorn, drawn away from his search for Frodo by the urgent call of Boromir's horn, finds the man mortally wounded in a clearing, surrounded by the bodies of many Orcs. With his last breath, Boromir confesses his attempt to take the ring from Frodo and warns that Pippin and Merri have been captured by the Orcs. After a simple ceremony in which the body of Boromir is laid to rest in one of the three Elven-made boats in which they travelled and sent down the river to the falls of Rauros, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimley resolve to hunt down the Orcs and rescue the captive Hobbits.
Thus begins the second installment of Lord of the Rings. As before Rob Englis delivers a top notch performance. He continues his trend of actually singing the songs in his good tenor rather than just reciting them as other narrators have done. He portrays each new character very well as far as I'm concerned, which makes for a great listen. From the opening lines to the end, this book should keep you under its spell, even if you've read it many times before.

Love this trilogy, huge fan of tolkiens work about middle earth. I wish he was still around to keep writing and finish some of his other work.

About the Author

Benjamin Drew (1812–1903) was an American abolitionist from Boston whose work was made possible thanks to the support of the Canadian Anti-Slavery Society and John P. Jewett, a renowned anti-slavery sympathizer from Boston who had unexpectedly reaped a fortune from publishing Uncle Tom’s Cabin in 1852.

George Elliott Clarke is the E.J. Pratt Professor of Canadian Literature at the University of Toronto. An award-winning poet, playwright, and screenwriter, he is the author of Execution Poems, winner of the 2001 Governor General’s Award for Poetry.

Unexpected and Effective Natural Methods

My mother is having a hard time getting around these days and has been complaining about a sore back for what seems like months now.

We've been to doctors, but she asked me if we could try other avenues because pain medication is too strong for her and hard on her body.

We both made the decision to buy this book based on the other reviews and I'm not disappointed whatsoever. I secretly wanted to buy it because I worry that back pain might be genetic, and I want to start preparing as soon as possible.

I carefully read through the book with her as we took time to discuss the different locations of pain. Thanks to the author's level of detail, I was able to point out and explain each tender area.

The book is full of good information and doesn't limit itself to just being 7 solutions. I found the explanations of pain and the joints to be worth the price by themselves.

The natural solutions are, however, the reason to purchase this book. I was hoping that it would be full of new information and not just the same "soak in a hot bath" we kept seeing online. I was impressed! There are methods, ingredients, and applications that neither me or my mother had heard of before.

We have a trip planned tomorrow to go to the health store and try some of these recommendations. Tonight, we followed the book's instructions on doing a pelvic tilt any my mother loved it!

Try this book out if you have back pain. I recommend it and will keep it around in the event that my mom develops symptoms of neck or joint pain, too.

Extremely Helpful!

I found this book extremely helpful. As an athlete, I find myself suffering from lower and upper back pain from the constant contact on the basketball court so a friend of mine referred me this book. I look forward to trying out this Arnica plant as it seems like it can alleviate some of my back pain.

Just about every day at the end of the day my back hurts so I use what I've learned from this book instead of taking medicine or using icy hot like I used to. The tips in this book are easy and it's much cheaper to follow them than it is to buy medicine all the time.

Sweet Sexy Short Read!

The sizzling attraction, emotional minefields, and sensual scenes between Emma and Cooper would make any romance reader's heart beat a lil faster, but it was the well-meaning antics and caring of the secondary characters that drew me in. Emma's overprotective big brothers and Cooper's pseudo-brothers stole the show for me. The connections between these families are a real bond any person would be lucky to have. I can't wait to see what Ms. James has in store for the next member of Billionaire's Anonymous Club. I hope Emma's brothers are eventually a part of this list too!

How do self-made billionaires find true love? They go through Leslie's Billionaire Online Dating Club. Using personality, not financials, to find matches in couples, Leslie has staked everything she has on her business, and she is willing to use her best friends' data to test the system.

Emma Jacobs asked Leslie to set her up on a date with a desk jockey to get her brothers off her back about dating. She is just not ready for a hook up. Who wants to move on after already finding their true love? It has been two years since he died in Afghanistan and she is still in mourning. What she was not prepared for was the instant way her body reacted to Cooper Johnson. Stock traders should NOT be able to haul hay.

Cooper Johnson enjoys his money through his 3,000-acre ranch. While finding someone to settle down with would be nice, it brings forth images of gold-diggers and paparazzi. He just wants the girl next door and finds it in Emma. It's too bad she just wants a fake boyfriend and is in love with a dead man. Except he decides she is worth the risk and goes after the challenge.

This romance is special because the rich man is going after the woman who doesn't want him. Sensual and humorous in nature, it is appropriate for most romance readers. Ella James provides the audience a roller coaster of emotional scenes that evoke empathy with Emma and Cooper. Character development is deep enough to want each of them to win, but not so immersive that the story is bogged down with useless information. While only 100 pages, the book is worth the time to read, especially since it is set up for additional billionaire bachelors to come.

Can true love happen twice in a lifetime? Can a stock trader be lucky enough to find a woman who wants him without knowing how much his portfolio is worth? Do cats have nine lives? Take the BILLIONAIRE HUSBAND TEST to see how Emma and Cooper score on the test that affects the rest of their lives.

The first test of an exclusive dating service (in more ways than one)

"Billionaire Husband Test" by Elle James (Myla Jackson) is the beginning of the `Billionaire Online Dating Service' series that features the members of a very exclusive club, starting with Frank Cooper Johnson, better known as Coop. Humoring his friend, Taggert (Tag) Bronson, Coop agrees to try out the service and is matched up to Emma Jacob. There are several drawbacks, including her four overprotective brothers, but their reluctant mutual attraction is severely complicated by the fact that Emma lost her fiance to the war a couple of years prior and is not quite sure she is ready to move on. Coop has to decide whether he wants to pursue his attraction and whether he can compete with a memory while Emma has to face whether her heart is big enough to allow someone new into her life.

This entertaining and sensual contemporary novella provides both a poignant story and a sensual romance. The tender concern displayed by Emma's brothers and her struggle with her grief and feelings of guilt form a beautiful backdrop to the entertaining trials that are placed in the way of her reluctant suitor who proves himself equal to every challenge presented to him, showing that he isn't just a helpless businessman but rather one who can meet and match the feisty woman on her terms. A lovely heartwarming tale that provides a great start to the series.
